The Alexander Skip Spence Memorial Concert Posted on September 27, 2013 by auweia The Skip Spence memorial Concert, April 30, 1999 Skip Spence was a founding member of The Jefferson Airplane and Moby Grape skip_spence_memorial_tribute This semi-public memorial concert took place at Brookdale Lodge, near Felton in Santa Cruz county and was recorded off the soundboard by four people, three of them digitally and one of them, myself, on cassette. The show was all day, more than 8 hours so nobody recorded all of it, and nobody recorded everything at the same time either, so some tapes have parts that other tapes do not Presented for the first time since the concert in 1999, two of the source tapes, one digital copy and one cassette copy transferred at 24/96khz. Much of it overlaps but a good hour of it contains audio the other tape doesn’t have. You’ll have to listen to the whole thing and figure it what’s missing. The digital copy has already been posted at 24 hour deja vu and is one reason why this post is being made, to make it more complete. It’s been 14 years now and the tape still sounds good, but the analog photos are fading as you can see.
